Studio apartments are different from bedroom type apartments because in a studio, there is usually just one big room with no separations. The kitchen, bedroom, living, and dining room would all be in one room. The only room that would actually be separate is the bathroom. Otherwise, everything else is shared. The good thing about studios is that it’s efficient. It is an open floor plan so you will not feel cramped. The trade off is that you also have no privacy. There is no way for you to close the door to your bedroom because there is no door. So if you have visitors over, they will see everything in your home. Also, you would probably not have many visitors because studios are usually pretty small.

To find studios, you can use websites like Craigslist or Rent.com. They all allow you to search for studios according to whatever criteria you provide. You can search according to the location and the rent. Since rent is important to me, I used that as criteria. Although I wanted to find a cheap place, I also did not want to end up living in a bad neighborhood. It is very important to actually go see the apartment you plan on renting. Not only do you want to look around the inside but also the outside. If you do not want to find a studio yourself, you could use the help of a realtor who also deals with property management.
